FR Review:
Clients are equally impressed by Carol Cannon’s dedication to her craft and by her decorative painting, which includes all types of special effect treatments for walls, ceilings, floors and furniture as well as murals in both classical and abstract motifs. We hear the “charming” Cannon is unsatisfied until she can capture exactly the right color. References describe her as reliable, fair, and very honest. Known for her trellis mural at Nicholas Antiques in the D&D building, Cannon works throughout New York City and the Hamptons. In addition, she has been known to travel the country, or the world, to handle projects in the vacation homes of her clients.

With a fine arts degree from the School of Visual Arts, and a degree in art therapy from the New School, Cannon started her own business in 1990. She also performs interior renovation for the Frick Collection on the Upper East Side. Fees depend on the commission, but are typically “a very good deal.”

Representative Client Comments:
“Carol is a soft-spoken woman with amazing talent.” “The work speaks for itself.” “Delivers that dreamy look.” “Can get you exactly the right texture, color and mood.” “Carol’s abilities have thus far been without limit, her skills without peers.” “She can create free-hand drawings of anything.” “Very accommodating–works hard to get it right.” “She should be charging more but doesn't.” “Very consistent and very professional.”

Project Description & Comments:
Ms. Cannon began working in my apartment some 8 years ago at the behest of my deorator. She has worked for me from ceiling to tiles, kitchen to baths, even a shared elecator foyer.

Her work is BEAUTIFUL. She collaberated with me over the years working from such things as a picture from an Etruscan villa for the den to a design of her own for the elevator hall combining glazing and lustre with traveling vines and a variety of birds interspersed throughout.

Perhaps her early tour de force was the 14 coats of paint and varnish she used to transform my den into a deep Chinese red lacquered jewel box complementing the black, persimmon and gold Aubusson rug.

Later she transformed my kitchen with a navy blue gloss ceiling, recessed lights and white striee walls above the large tiled floor she painted and sealed to reflect the light.

My dining room even- the decorator asked to photograph- was a joint effort resulting in a soft cream and honey wide striped wallpaper above the chair rail and a damask paper paper below- except neither was a paper. Rather, they were painted by Carol to represent them. She anchored separated the pattern with the rail and crowned the 11 foot walls with a sweeping, undulating cornice.

In the large pale blue square foyer, she made boxes below the chair rail with wood trim and delicately outlined them with quarter inch gold leaf. From there one sees to the side a 22' bedroom with the same blue on the walls only with Carol's Maxfield Parish effect going from light to darker as the eye rises up.

I could go on here....
I hope she will too.
