FR Review:
Who says flooring has to be boring? Though it's one of the oldest flooring companies in New York, Aronson's doesn't think flooring should be stodgy and dull, but fun and hip. A visit to their showroom feels much like a school trip, with the colorful swatches and samples and Aronson's famous "action figures": Vinyl Vixen, Carpet Cowboy and Tile Temptress.

This firm has been serving clients in Manhattan, the Hamptons, Westchester and other areas in the region since its founding in 1867 by Samuel Aronson. The company is now owned and run by Aronson's great-niece, Laura Swedlow, also an architect and lecturer for the AIA, whose seminars focus on green, sustainable practices.

This residential and commercial business sells, installs, creates custom designs and does repair work on wood, cork, rubber, linoleum, area rugs, wall-to-wall carpets and mats. The eighteen-man outfit works with architects, contractors and designers, as well as directly with homeowners. Clients are delighted with the efficient service and vouch for Aronson's tidy, punctual and prompt staff. Pricing is per square foot and is said to be fair and competitive.

Representative Client Comments:
"Crews are self-supervising." "Lovely work." "Recommended for mid-market projects." "Some quality control issues." "Fair quality, reasonable prices, and a good attitude." "Wonderful customer service."
