FR Review:
Doyle New York is one of Manhattan’s best-known boutique auction houses, a more intimate alternative to Christie’s and Sotheby’s that nontheless does a brisk business. Under the stewardship of Kathleen Doyle, this privately held company has become known for its specialty auctions of paintings, jewelry, furniture and haute-couture clothing. It has also developed a good reputation for handling estates and personal collections, including those of blue chip interior designers David Easton and Jamie Drake. Free informal valuations–frequently performed by regulars on PBS’ Antiques Roadshow–are available by appointment or submitted online, while a written version prepared for insurance or estate planning purposes requires a fee. The company has a growing network of regional representatives throughout the East Coast and beyond, allowing them to cover significant ground. Depending on the item, Doyle will sometimes offer to buy from clients directly, a convenient option for those who wish to bypass the auction process.

Representative Client Comments:
“Yes they are smaller than the ‘big two’ auction houses, but they do a wonderful job, and they treat you very well.” “They work harder on the small stuff.” “A growing name.”
