FR Review:
Combining the easy grace of Palm Beach with the sophistication of Manhattan is Kemble Interiors’ approach–one they’ve perfected over the course of their storied history. A multi-generational firm, the company was founded in 1982 by Mimi McMakim, who developed her signature whimsical traditionalism in her native Palm Beach. The New York branch is helmed by her daughter, Celerie Kemble. A star in her own right, sources laud Kemble as a “breath of fresh air,” able to deliver a look that is both luxurious and young-at-heart. Her work brings to mind a stylish young family settling in on Park–comfortable, inviting rooms that blend classic design with sparks of color and invention.
The firm has two offices in the states–one in Palm Beach and one in Manhattan. Both field small support staffs that allow Kemble Interiors to tackle projects up and down the East Coast. The firm also has a London office, mostly for another McMakim daughter, Phoebe Kemble, to run her catering and hospitality business (Kemble Kitchens). References praise all parts of the company as industrious and highly organized, and they single out Celerie as a charming and lively talent. Prices are reasonable given the quality of product and service. The only drawback is the waitlist–given the firm’s active clientele and press profile (Celerie regularly appears in the media, and she was recently featured in J.
