Commended for his enthusiasm, dedication, and his unique take on modernity, Martin Raffone creates consistently handsome, elegant, and chic interiors inspired by his love of natural, authentic materials. Harmonious juxtapositions of color and texture are a trademark. Furnishings are generally kept to elemental modern forms but mixed with an unexpected twist of the antique and exotic. Despite the textural diversity, an underlying sense of calm is felt by clients, who are avid supporters of Raffone. The designer is applauded for being "super-organized" and for an excellent understanding of the practical: storage, lighting, and architectural detailing. Clients also report that Raffone is open to a wide range of sources in the belief that "each has its moment."
In practice since 1997 and bringing 10 years experience at top-name firms to the job, Raffone has attracted a following of sophisticated clients, creating modern homes both downtown and up. Current projects include several loft renovations in Chelsea and Soho-- and projects as far afield as St. Barts and Morocco. Raffone's projects consist of a mix of entire renovations, fully detailed decoration, and at times, just a few good rooms for a sympathetic client.
Budgets start at $200,000, with living rooms running from $75,000 on up. Budgets are professionally detailed and discussed upfront, and a standard design fee and commission are charged. Hourly consultations are available with a minimum. Architecture percentages are taken for structural oversight.
