This “honest, reliable and energetic” organization has evolved from a painting and decorative-finish guru into one of the best and brightest total interior renovation contractors in Manhattan. From refined Art Deco prewars to striking minimalist architecture in SoHo, SilverLining projects reach from $500,000 into the multimillions. True to its beginnings, the firm maintains in-house finishing crews that include painters, tile installers, carpenters, plasterers, stainers, paper- hangers and glazers. (Custom plasterwork is also a specialty.)
We hear that principal Joshua Wiener proves both a tireless client champion and a man in tune with good taste. Not surprisingly, his wife is interior designer Eve Robinson, with whom he occasionally teams. Though the staff numbers 197, sources say each tradesperson and manager working for the company is helpful and proud of his or her contribution to the elegant and original finished product. In the end, SilverLining prices as it plays, in the upper echelon, with the firm’s integrated painting, millwork and framing divisions reportedly a big scheduling advantage.
