FR Review:
FORM Architecture has been on the receiving end of praise from clients and the media alike for its becoming, modern aesthetic. Clients report that the firm can get just as excited about doing a historic Italianate renovation, as long as there is an eye towards expanding the light and flow. Its many supporters praise the firm for being sympathetic to their needs and answering questions with thoughtful, not rehearsed answers. We're also told the firm is quick with follow-ups and approaches each project with enthusiasm.
Brent Leonard and Sean Webb are the principals of the eight-person firm, which has been in business since 1998 and in practice for much longer under different names. Leonard holds a degree from Parsons College and Webb holds an M.Arch. from the University of Texas. Approximately 90% of the firm's work is residential with much of it taking place in Manhattan and the Hamptons. FORM has also worked in Westchester and Fairfield counties, Boston, Wyoming, California, and Canada.
Recent projects speak to the firm's versatility, including a classic 57th Street triplex, a historic Brooklyn townhouse, a Calgary prairie house, an Easthampton Zen hideaway and a Fire Island beach house. The firm works on either an hourly rate or a standard percentage of total construction costs and is priced under market.
