FR Review:
Ferenc Wohner founded Wohners Millworkers in 1909 in Europe. Today, his great-grandson John Wohner runs the business with eight employees, all trained in the family tradition. Wohners specializes in doors, gold leaf, corbels, full rooms, carved accents, architectural pieces, mantelpieces and carvings, mostly from the firm’s own French-influenced designs. Sources say that Wohners will also work from others’ designs, but doesn’t do much replication.

Besides its custom work, Wohners carries a retail line of imported and domestic mantels to accommodate every price range. Insiders say that Wohners works mostly with private clients, and determines fees by the job’s complexity. Wohners Millworkers has done rooms in the Dakota, and was the subject of a chapter in John Lewman’s book, Fireplace & Mantel Ideas.

Representative Client Comments:
“The Wohner touch added elegance and class to my living room.” “This family-run company is simply delightful!”
