FR Review:
Amor Villar, Jr., principal of Heights Woodworking, is a second generation woodworker. Heights was founded in 1957 by his father Amor Sr., a Spanish cabinetmaker who fought in the Spanish Civil War. This twenty-man firm keeps busy creating high-end residential moldings, doorways, entryways, windows, bookcases and interiors. Clients say the versatile Villar will work in formica and will even make tables out of stone and wood, and his diverse skill set allows him to work equally well in a wide variety of styles. Heights boasts a 9,000 square-foot factory, a second building which houses their storage and a third building which has their showroom.
Villar is known for doing quality work in a timely manner. The firm works in New York City, Westchester, New Jersey, Connecticut, Boston, Chicago, Washington and Atlanta. Typical room projects are in the $30,000-$350,000 realm, large individual units run from $10,000 and smaller pieces start at $4,000. In addition to its bread-and-butter jobs for clients and contractors, Heights Woodworking recently participated in the Madison Avenue Presbyterian Church restoration project. The firm works with the trade as well as with homeowners.
Representative Client Comments:
