Jamie Drake is heartily endorsed by clients for his inventive refreshing style, attention to detail, and warm personality. Well known for his invigorating palette of vibrant color, fashion infusions, and over-the-top embellishments, Drake also works well with more moderate customers. Clients report that he is happy to take their lead, while gently nudging them in a coherent direction.
Drake established his firm upon his graduation from Parsons in 1978. There are two senior designers and a registered architect on staff. While there is a (not surprising) substantial minimum for new clients, Drake will work with a client in phases, and can be very budget-minded. Clients span a wide range of ranges ages and design interests, but all speak warmly of Drake and his work. Commissions include Gracie Mansion, Mayor Michael Bloomberg's Manhattan townhouse (a client for seventeen years), Madonna's lush, dramatic LA residence, and Victor Gramm's retreat on Martha's Vineyard. References all conclude that Drake offers wonderful customer service.
A standard design fee is charged, with all products at a reasonable markup. Oversight usually falls under Drake's purview-- at higher rates. Younger clients often do living rooms in the $100,000 range, with more established clientele in the $500,000 range.
