FR Review:
A well-kept secret among high-end builders and contractors, Phoenix Hardwood Flooring has built a glowing reputation among its clients over the past 25 years. Established in 1990 by Ed Myers, Ken Myatt, Stan Hill and Jeff Samoncik, the business that started out with just ten people is now a company with multiple offices/showrooms (Norwalk and Guilford), two 10,000-square-foot warehouses, and 125 employees.
Phoenix installs, repairs, restores, sands, finishes and creates custom designs, medallions and inlays for hardwood floors only. The firm does mostly new construction for residential interiors in New York City, Connecticut, Westchester and beyond. Aside from new installations, Phoenix also boasts museum-quality and historic restoration projects like the Bush-Holley Museum in Greenwich and the Lockwood Mansion in Norwalk.
Sources praise the firm’s “excellent customer service” and “creative, problem-solving” staff. The company assigns a project manager for each job, ensuring that the client deals with one key person from start to finish. There is no set method for pricing, but a fl at fee is quoted for each job. Projects can range from a simple $500 refinishing to a $350,000 installation.
