FR Review:
Monica Götz can trace her painting roots to four generations of decorative painters and gilders in Germany. In 1999, she founded Woerth Street Studio in Manhattan after a formal education in fi ne art and graphic design. She specializes in glazing, woodgraining and color matching, and has extensive experience in creating both traditional and unusual glazed finishes. She partners with high-end contractors, designers and architects on residential and commercial projects, both large and small.
When color matching, she can recreate the color, pattern, and sheen of almost any surface, whether it’s glaze, wood, stone, fabric, wallpaper, tile or leather. She is often called upon to glaze new surfaces to match wood or marble that is already part of the room’s décor, to recreate existing glazed work which has been damaged, or to paint switchplates and other unsightly items to blend into their surrounding surfaces. We hear that Götz’s ability to match colors is “almost uncanny.”
