FR Review:
From 100,000-square-foot recording studios in the city to historic renovations in the suburbs, Nagle Hartray Danker Kagan McKay has delighted clients with versatility and strong design concepts for 35 years. A true full-service firm, NHDKM has extensive experience in virtually all styles, but contemporary, in both residential and commercial endeavors, is the jewel in the company's crown. Insiders point to the firm's generous use of natural lighting as its greatest strength in creating inviting environments. The creation of spaces that are at once sophisticated, yet livable, is its indelible signature.

Principal Jim Nagle founded the firm in 1966, and insiders tell us the man loves to have fun with his work and encourages his clients to have fun in the process. Nagle and his associates are well known for their collaborative approach to incorporating clients' ideas and input in projects. Nagle holds an M.A. in architecture from Harvard and undergraduate degrees from MIT and Stanford.

There are four other principals of the firm: John Hartray, who managed the design of the Washington D.C. Metro Subway; and Dirk Danker, Howard Kagan and Donald McKay, each of whom holds a B.A. in architecture from the University of Illinois at Chicago. The NHDKM staff of 32 includes 19 architects registered in 12 states. Clients that enlist the firm's services typically work with two or three of the principals throughout a project's duration.
