FR Review:
Lucien Lagrange earns praise from clients and industry leaders alike for his sophisticated blend of influences—from his native France and the rich architectural legacy of Chicago. His vision of classic Continental design is appreciated in much of his work, creating an elegant feel, particularly to the many luxury high-rise condominiums the firm has designed. Lagrange is conversant in multiple schools of design and clients say his diverse portfolio—ranging from old-world traditional to cutting-edge modernism—is his greatest strength.
Lagrange came to the United States in 1968 to work for the renowned architecture firm of Skidmore Owings & Merill, where he stayed until creating his own practice in 1985. Since then, his firm has grown steadily and now employs 70, providing architecture, master planning and interior design services. Lagrange's work is 60 percent residential, most of which involves multi-family condominium buildings and individual units. The firm does, however, design certain high-end single-family homes in the area. Recently recognized by several regional groups for its innovative design of the 67-story Park Tower hotel and condominium building, Lagrange is doing the interior architecture for several of these owners.
