Mariette Himes Gomez is consistently praised for her relaxed elegance, calming palette and professional manner. She is much admired for her uncanny ability to make minimalism appear luxurious. While she has a healthy respect for tradition, she is known as a master editor who refines spaces with neutral forms, textures and details. Best known for her trademark colors of whites and creams, she will also incorporate soft hues at the client's request. References say that Gomez is not, however, the person to hire for flounces or frills, and that she has a specific view of what she believes will work.
The firm is quite large by industry standards and is often recognized for its strong organizational abilities. Patrons feel that they receive a good amount of attention from Gomez herself and are very impressed with the follow-up. Clients include a large number of entertainment moguls, including Harrison Ford and director Ivan Reitman, and high-profile bankers. She is also known to accept the challenge of interesting, smaller projects, and recently created her own line of furniture and accessories. The firm does occasional commissions in Chicago, and is said to be available and accommodating.
