FR Review:
Marshall Watson has a strong group of clients who are fans of him and his work. His interiors are appreciated by clients for their classically elegant bones based on historical reference, with a hint of surprise. He often employs soft flowing fabrics, stately, yet comfortable seating areas and a welcoming palette of warm colors. Customers say he is a very engaging man who tries to please them by matching his designs to their lifestyles and interests. Younger clients on a budget, as well as more established patrons with very substantial projects, give the firm high marks.

Watson originally studied design at Stanford University and currently has his own line of furniture which is produced by Lewis Mittman. Resources applaud him for his dedicated philanthropy work, particularly in the area of the design arts.

The firm is based in New York, and many of Watson's clients are in Manhattan and Chicago, with others in the Hamptons, Nantucket, St. Louis, London and Spain. While certain clients suggest that Watson's follow-up could be a bit better, most find him highly effective. They consistently report that Watson is fair, honorable and helpful until the end. His up-front design fee and product and oversight fees are very reasonable, and he finds unusual and interesting pieces to fit a budget. The firm is highly recommended, noted for the beauty and comfort of each design.

Representative Client Comments:
"He has the warmth of a Midwesterner and the sophisticated design sensibility of a New Yorker.""He quickly understood what we wanted and became part of our family.""He designs for the real world, not for Architectural Digest photo shoots. There is good reading light near every sofa.""Many a Goldman partner has commented that we have the most stunning dining room they have ever seen.""Despite the fact that his home base is in New York, I found him remarkably accessible for my Chicago renovation.""He delivers great quality without killing you on the budget.""He listened well and delivered. A+.”
