Merger mania brings this Northbrook HVAC service provider (formerly AA Service) under the banner of a growing regional chain. It is one of three in the Chicago area to be recently franchised by Blue Dot, which has assembled a chain of top tier local HVAC contractors in 27 states. The Northbrook and Skokie (see review below) companies took the Blue Dot family name, while Wiegold & Sons & Grandsons in Lake Forest (see review) keeps its original moniker for now. As Blue Dot franchisees, all three retain their original, local management and staff while benefiting from the national company's training, performance standards and resources, which includes a large custom sheet-metal shop. All Blue Dot mechanics are uniformed and bonded, receive training in HVAC technology and customer relations, and are "trust-certified," which is a Blue Dot program of reference checks and drug testing. Blue Dot specializes in residential and light commercial service and replacement throughout greater Chicago, including the Gold Coast and North Shore. An estimate is provided before work begins. Maintenance programs and financing options are available, and 24-hour emergency service operates seven days a week.
