Many North Shore and Barrington area residents have come to rely on Horcher Brothers for larger remodeling and addition projects. An established general contractor since 1959, this firm is run by father-and-son team John Horcher, founder, and Paul Horcher. It divides its time between commercial and residential work. Residential projects typically average $400,000 and top out at the $1.5-million mark. Despite its usual price tags, Horcher returns to past clients to handle their smaller jobs. On occasion the firm also builds new homes.
The company can and will facilitate design service, when required, or work with a client's preferred architect. It has in-house carpenters that are said to be top quality. Clients appreciate Horcher Brothers' long-time experience, hands-on management, quick response and the very reliable quality of workmanship, we're told. While the pricing is upper-end, it is seen as competitive with other high-caliber contractors on the North Shore.
