Ilene April has a more contemporary background and a love for not only color but all neutrals that we are told manifests itself in the numerous styles she uses for her various projects. April is the sole practitioner of the firm she started in 1994 at the age of 29. She takes on about eight projects annually—split between the city and its northern suburbs—and we are told she encourages the input and active participation of her clients. April, a graduate of Harrington, will not hesitate to take on smaller projects and insiders say she relates well to a younger clientele. A typical living room will cost about $25,000 and April charges a very low hourly rate and standard markup of products. ASID.
