Affordable, accessible luxury is how The Silk Trading Company bills itself, and clients agree. Known by many as a purveyor of fine silk and textiles by the yard, the company has broken new ground into custom upholstery, custom drapery and a highly successful ready-to-wear drapery line called "Drapery Out-of-a-Box." Described as luxurious, classically derived and consistently well crafted, the firm's recently developed signature style is reflected in these products. Of course, the key differentiating factor here is cost (much less since you do it yourself) and availability. Clients include both design savvy homeowners (repeat and celebrity) and decorators looking for that perfect shade of Como Silk.

Owner Andrea Kaye began Silk Trading in the early 1990s after an international career in opera singing; after gaining recognition nationwide, the firm has since returned to its boutique beginnings. Still, its reputation gains momentum every year due to its quality products, service and design. With emphasis on principal attention, The Silk Trading Company provides home consultations; fees vary seasonally.
