FR Review:
Kiyohara Moffitt's designs are transitional blends of the best of the past and the best of the present, resulting in "stunningly becoming work that speaks to both worlds." While traditional materials, such as clapboard or Craftsman millwork, may be employed, they are used in a clean, modern, fresh manner. California contemporary and Spanish Mediterranean are also successfully executed. The firm is further distinguished by its "incredibly accommodating" nature and its "excellent execution" of highly detailed designs—right down to the insides of the drawers. Moreover, the firm is committed to providing good value to the client.

Gina Moffitt is said to be a masterful communicator who "gets involved with the clients' emotions to create the perfect house." The principal started the practice, which currently has four employees, in 1987. Moffitt earned her degree, Phi Beta Kappa, from UC Berkeley.

The firm divides its focus between ground-up designs and extensive renovations mostly in the Beverly Hills, Malibu, Pasadena and Manhattan Beach areas. Homes average 3,000 to 6,000 square feet, but the firm recently completed a single-room remodel and a 13,000-square-foot ground up in Bel Air. Most projects are done at a budget-conscious cost of from $300 per square foot, delivering "a lot of house for the money."

Representative Client Comments:
"At the onset of our job, Gina promised that she was going to create a haven for us. She more than delivered." "They really care that the client is super happy." "Could not have been more satisfied with their services." "Gina makes sure that the contractor does not make mistakes." "While standing firm on their principles, and gently guiding you in the right direction, they never forget who's paying the bill!" "A thoroughly enjoyable experience. We love them." "Gina Moffit is talented, creative, friendly and have a great company to work with." "They kept us from becoming a divorce statistic."

Project Description & Comments:
Gina Moffitt provided full architectural services for an extensive remodel of a 1950s ranch home - kitchen, three bathrooms and several other spaces. We could not have been happier with her service. She was attentive, timely, economical, thorough and easy to work with. She often came up with mutiple solutions to a problem, allowing us to choose which we prefered. She saved us from many potential mis-steps, listened to our needs and the end result was fantastic. She stayed focused throughout the project and was available from start to finish via phone or email for both major and minor questions. She even met me at tile shops and marble yards to help choose materials. She worked closely and well with our contractor and is now helping us with furniture selection and paint colors as we finish the job.
