FR Review:
Treasured for his ability to salvage existing finishes on exquisite antique English, French and Italian furniture, Joe Reardon has amassed a devoted clientele. After an eighteen-year tenure with a well-known Los Angeles furniture refinishing firm, Reardon opened his own business in 2002. Clients applaud Reardon's kind demeanor and professional attitude as well as his "impeccable" French polishing techniques and cosmetic touch-ups of interior architectural woodwork. Sources say that Reardon's specialty is the house call, and customers report that working with him is like "having an enthusiastic teacher in your house to answer any questions you might have."
Reardon is able to do gilding, but we're told he's most at home with wood finishes, veneer repairs and structural repairs to fine pieces. When a finish cannot be salvaged, Reardon is adept at re-creating almost any finish in any color. He will take on jobs of up to 80 pieces. Nearly all of his commissions are in-home restoration calls that can last anywhere from an hour to two to three weeks, although he does do some work in his 600 square foot workshop. Reardon currently has four full-time employees and personally oversees each project.
Representative Client Comments:
"On top of being a really easygoing guy, he's about as talented as they come." "There's no way you can tell his reproduction finishes from a 300-year-old original."
