FR Review:
Making the most of her sterling training with Michael S. Smith, Schuyler Samperton creates resplendent, joyful interiors turned down a half of a notch. Rooms look as if created over a lifetime of experience, thought, and travel. The colors are rich, the upholstery is elegant, the case goods are well-worn, and all is threaded together with the fine details of the craft.
Samperton, a Washington, DC native and the daughter of an architect, studied art history at Trinity College in Connecticut and New York University. After seven years in PR with Fox Television, she went to Smith’s firm to do PR and was quickly brought over to the design side, working there for almost five years.
Samperton’s own firm was founded in February 2003, and is currently working on about eight major projects at a time with a staff of two. Clients include young families and established creative professionals, including actor Rob Morrow, model Carolyn Murphy, and Yeardley Smith of The Simpsons, as well as scattered projects throughout Pacific Palisades and Brentwood, and executive offices at Sony. Sideboards may range from $5,000 to $100,000. There is a flat, up front design fee, and a standard markup.
