FR Review:
Time and again, we're told that Nancy Stanley Waud linens are the finest in Los Angeles. Decorators going for "a full home's worth of linens" and homeowners who verge on the obsessive all say that no one compares when it comes to custom, cohesive work. Almost anything can be fabricated and embroidered by the firm, including bed skirts, duvets, tablecloths, dressing table skirts, pillows and bed and bath linens; a recent project outfitting a yacht found the firm stitching fun cocktail napkins, robes and slippers, beach blankets and even custom laundry totes. Waud is commended for her "exquisite" designs, attention to detail and high-quality materials and stitching. Additionally, clients appreciate her innate ability to suggest the appropriate weight, color and texture for the look they are trying to achieve. Designers say the firm has a full understanding of current offerings in the interior design market (fabrics, trims, etc.) and is always interested in finding something new and special to provide a unique product and personal experience.

Waud has been working with some of the same clients and seamstresses since she established her shop in 1983. Years of trunk shows at Parish Hadley have led to ongoing collaborations with veterans of that firm; other repeat customers include Charlotte Moss, Margaret Moore and Olasky & Sinsteden. With such a widespread network, it is paramount that Waud provides a seamless experience - from consultation to installation - no matter the location, and all agree she goes above and beyond to achieve this. Decorators can send Waud fabric memos from the job and Waud will send back design concepts and thread suggestions. We're told the company ships a product only after it has been carefully inspected and perfectly ironed. To ensure continuity and an easy install, entire houses—or at least complete rooms—are often done all in one shot. Prices vary considerably based on the intricacy of the design and thread count. For those who understand the lead time it takes to "Nancy" a room (yes, her consistent service is now a verb), the final look is worth every meticulous step.

Representative Client Comments:
"The designs are both whimsical and sophisticated, sometimes in the same pattern." "Parish Hadley would use no one else, and had boxes and boxes shipped to New York regularly." "Once you've seen her stuff you'll never go back." "I left a message for her the other day saying I have a room that I need to 'Nancy.'" "Because the business is only to the trade there is a freedom and capacity to provide highly specialized and custom products for the whole house, often without a long lead time." "The end product is labeled and shipped impeccably, which makes installation a breeze. Usually items for each room are shipped together so there is no running all over the job to put things in the right place; they have a full understanding of what it’s like to unpack a whole job and install it. Delivery is on time, every time, and each item has been inspected, ironed, folded and ready to install or put away."
