Bottom Line:
It was an amazing experience to build a house with Tim Barber. I would highly recommend him to friends.
Project Description & Comments:
Ours was a small (but major) addition/remodel of about 2,500 square feet, but we felt that Tim Barber and his team treated the project with the same care they give their bigger jobs. Barber actually seemed to like the challenge of working with limited space. He created a home that fits our family of four like a comfortable pair of jeans. There's not a room we don't use daily but we never feel cramped. I walk down the stairs in the morning just loving our home.
Instead of trying to push us to go bigger and shinier than we wanted (and as other architects did), Barber listened to what we wanted--simple, modest, authentic--and went with it. He got our style. In LA, that's saying something.
Barber's attention to detail--from molding at the wall/ceiling to wooden railing choices to cupboard treatments in the kitchen--is noted by friends who come to the house.
He was very involved when working with our contractor, electrician, plumber, tile guys, etc., and I think he saved us from worry by handling any glitches on his own.
Before we hired Tim Barber, I called the references he gave us. Literally everyone on the list raved about him. I was convinced after talking with about five people, but I kept calling because it was so fun. Now I'm happy to rave about him!

Project Description & Comments:
I worked with Tim Barber and his team to remodel my 1930's Spanish home. Everyone in his office truly made it a great experience. They were incredibly detail oriented, and ensured that every aspect of our remodel truly fit with the style of our home. They also were budget conscious in their design, and tried very hard to makes sure the plans would fit within my construction budget.
They also did a phenomenal job with our construction administration. Every small detail in the design came to life perfectly during construction, and I really felt like they were my partner throughout the process.
In the end, our house came out perfectly. We love our updated rooms, but feel like they blend perfectly into the original rooms. We were so happy with the entire process.

Bottom Line:
Tim is the best. He is expensive, but worth it. I would, and do, highly recommend him.

Tim Barber and his staff are extremely talented, professional and a delight to work with. Tim is the master of the renovation, especially with older homes. He can match architectural styles down to the smallest detail and delights in every minute of it. He is amazing.

Top of the line architectural design, and detailed assistance throughout an entire home building (or remodeling) project. A bit expensive, but WORTH EVERY PENNY! Project went very smoothly, and we got a better product than we could have ever imagin

Tim Barber LTD helped guide us through our first home building experience every step of the way. Tim Barber and his talented staff have the competence, experience, and knowledge to not only transform your dream home onto paper, but to add so many fantastic suggestions that the final design is beyond your expectations. So many fantastic styling touches, attention to detail, and functional add-ons that I would have never thought of came to life on the blue prints, sketches and design details. Tim is extremely flexible to your needs, but offers great embellishment to your basic ideas. There is no problem or technical issue that Tim and his crew cannot overcome. He is extraordinarily creative and passionate about his work. His company is large enough to accommodate all of your large scale project needs, but small enough to maintain that personal touch. Tim was on time with our project, and helped us with the entire building process, up to and including the final interior design. I would highly recommend his work to anyone. I can be contacted as a reference.

Tim Barber Ltd. designed a spectacular residence for our family in Beverly Hills. Tim and his team had great ideas, worked professionally and capably, kept the project moving, put us in touch with a great selection of general contractors to pick from, staying with the project throughout construction, stood behind their work whenever that was necessary, and took a small idea and turned it into an amazing place for our family to live. We could not have been happier with the result. Tim and his team are creative and honorable. They made sure that the entire experience, from planning, to tearing down our house, to building the new one, and then designing the spaces and furnishing them, was a great experience. I would do it again, without hesitation. I would look no further.
