FR Review:
This large, oft-used firm creates and installs high-end custom millwork for designers and creates production pieces for big builders. Pacific specializes in exquisite staircases and fireplace mantels; cabinets and cased paneling are also produced in its 10,000 square foot shop. Furniture and other designer pieces can be produced in the context of a larger job.

Together principals John Long and Steve Gonsalves bring decades of experience to the helm of the firm. Long came into the business with twenty years in woodworking already under his belt; Gonsalves, who got his start in the restoration of old San Marino estate homes and has done everything from mill cabinets to swing doors, contributes his hands-on know-how and spearheads all custom work.

The firm is equipped with CAD, and while it is primarily oriented toward contractors, it also works well with designers, helping them develop their concepts. Pacific's fabrication and design team has been featured in Extreme Makeover and in the LA Daily News, generating even more positive buzz for this highly regarded industry stalwart. Prices are said to be on the upper end of high; we're told Pacific charges a minimum of $25,000 for a custom project such as a kitchen or library.
