FR Review:
Trade professionals turn to A. Rudin for its reliably "excellent" upholstery work. This large, family owned and operated organization consistently delivers the goods; even those who say it's a little on the commercial side keep coming back for more.

Established in 1912 by Morris Rudin, the firm is led today by his son, Arnold. One hundred employees strong, Rudin can accommodate hospitality and office building jobs in addition to high-end residential projects. The company's Pacific Design Center showroom displays over 60 furniture samples and 200 fabrics. The firm will do both modern and traditional work, usually with a 25/75 between goose down and feathers. Lead times are eight to ten weeks and costs are reasonable for the elite market.

Representative Client Comments:
"They are very flexible about what they can do." "Dependable and straightforward." "Staff is terrific."

Bottom Line:
A Rudin is terrible; they are arrogant, snobby and nothing is their fault. They don't seem to know that customers have many choices and they won't be mine every again. PASS

Project Description & Comments:
Through a decorator, I purchased two things from A Rudin, both were extraordinarily priced and both were no better than Pottery Barn. The sofa is the most uncomfortable piece of furniture I have ever owned. It's lack of depth in the seat makes it an unpleasant place to sit in our family room. Unfortunately it was custom made and takes up the entire space. I figured that was my fault so I let it go, but then I ordered kitchen counter stools that were too short for the counter. I assumed these came in a standard size as most counters are 36", so again I assumed it was my fault. Since they have a method to raise the chairs, at my cost which I paid, it tells me this has happened to others. The stools came back damaged but they insist it is not their fault. It's 100% their fault and I would never use them again and recommend that no one else does either. There is nothing that original in their designs, although they are lovely, and similar expensive items can be had anywhere
