Whether overhauling a bungalow in Santa Monica or classically restoring a Paul Williams estate built for Vincent Price, Kim Alexandriuk's unique appeal shines through. Rooms resonate with clarified color, or more neutral palettes may be expertly highlighted with mid-century jewels. She happily does traditional or modern, but each family is presented with a fresh idea, assimilating alluring organic materials. Mixing periods, provinces and paragons with a deft hand, the interiors speak to the client’s time, travel and intentions.
Raised in Germany and educated in Lyon in fine art, Alexandriuk worked at the J. Paul Getty Museum for two years and for Michael Smith for seven years, using a softer version of streamline style, before opening her own firm in 1999. Alexandriuk delights clients by mixing items of extraordinary heritage together. Patrons also speak well of her access to a wide array of interesting international resources as she frequently travels home to Europe. Many clients who have used other decorators in the past become her advocates, stating that they will never use another.
Alexandriuk's office manages approximately six projects at a time, and she is the main contact. The office receives kudos from clients for its effectiveness, and bills are said to be clear and reasonable.
