While the firm is constantly rethinking and experimenting with materials and fabrications to accommodate both the physical and financial, every choice is grounded in a solid design sensibility.

The sole principal of this firm of eight, O'Herlihy holds an architecture degree from Cal Poly/San Luis Obispo. Prior to going out on his own in 1990, O'Herlihy was employed by the respected firm of I.M. Pei and Associates, where he worked on the acclaimed Louvre Museum project in Paris.
Most of O'Herlihy's projects are built in the greater Los Angeles area, including Pacific Palisades, Palos Verdes Marina Del Rey, Hollywood Hills and Malibu. However, the firm also works in locations such as Chicago, San Francisco, San Diego, Tokyo and China. Single-family ground-up residences of moderate size and high expectations make up the firm's residential slate. Fees are said to be lower than standard and can be based on a percentage of construction, an hourly or flat fee.
