FR Review:
With a design style that is described as "oxygenated, fresh and refined," Jackie Terrell has impressed both clients and peers. Her clean, spare interiors strongly reflect an educated perspective. Rooms are awakened with a clean stroke of livable, obtainable style: some more modern, others more traditional. Bauhaus or Shaker influences are enlivened by beautiful, engaging murals or sections of amusing trompe l'oeil drawn from Terrell's painterly imagination. Terrell works closely with each client, discovering personal design preferences together.

Terrell's various artistic endeavors have come together in interior design. Graduating with a degree in fine art and design, Terrell painted realist works and created gouache Indian miniatures for fifteen years. She then worked as a clothing designer for Nancy Heller, and more recently she assisted Kathryn Ireland in her line of printed hemp fabrics. In 1994, at a friend's insistence, Terrell ventured into interior design. With an excellent staff, she is making waves, working on about seven new projects at a time. Clients tend to be younger, including several TV writers in their 30s, and more recently, some established movie stars.

Budgets can evolve or be set up front. The firm charges a lower hourly rate and a small markup on trade products only. Terrell is known for her wonderful resources, especially her access to outstanding mural painters. Clients further add that there are clever (and economically practical) juxtapositions of color and light, utility and entertainment, and the expensive and the cheap. But all comment that each room comes together as a well-composed, thoughtful mural. HB Top Designers, 2003, 2004.

Representative Client Comments:
"Jackie turns the most mundane rooms into pleasurable, desirable vistas." "Jackie is so easy to work with, yet shows the necessary strength with contractors and vendors." "Responsible and responsive." "She transforms the impossible into the doable, with a lampshade to match." "This is our second divine job together. For the next one I plan to take a long nap and let her go for it." "Jackie comes up with really practical and helpful storage solutions." "She easily works with the most expensive fabrics to Ikea. She is not a snob." "We cannot recommend her strongly enough."
