FR Review:
Known as a member of the Santa Monica School, Frederick Fisher (along with Eric Owen Moss, Frank Gehry and Frank Israel) was part of that innovative generation of 1970s architects who believed in form following function. Most recently, Fisher has become known for designs that stress "fluidity of function," with open-space settings and a deft use of exposed natural and organic materials. With a strong contextual reference to site conditions, we hear the firm also develops excellent design flow between indoor and outdoor spaces.

A "solid and thoughtful" presence, Fisher has developed a reputation for delivering a high level of personalized service. The sizable practice, which also handles numerous institutional, commercial and retail projects, currently employs 27, including seven licensed architects. Fisher holds a Master of Architecture from UCLA, while partners Joseph Coriaty and David Ross were educated at USC and SCI-Arc respectively.

Representative Client Comments:
"Interesting and caring, Fred develops clean, spacious, light-filled homes." "He created beautiful light-filled rooms from little dull compartments someone thought were rooms." "I practically had to put a gun to his head to get a hook to hang my bathrobe, but that is how true he is to the design." "Fred's a humanitarian—he really cares about people and he cares desperately about his work."
