FR Review:
For big-budget performance with soul, this is the real McCoy. The choice of Forbes-profiled executives and A-list entertainers, Peter McCoy Construction executes massive projects, often new construction of 10,000 to 50,000 square foot (and well beyond) residences or extensive gut renovations. Projects are typically on LA's west side (sometimes Santa Barbara) and architecturally ambitious. Often brought in shortly after the architect, McCoy enjoys jumping into projects in which individual personalities are vividly expressed.
It's not surprising then, that this "society contracting firm" would be top-lined by a man who was the one-time chief of Sotheby's West Coast operations and married to heiress Kacey Doheny. The non-adversarial Peter McCoy runs his firm with an eye on every project and every client. He limits his jobs so as to maximize his collaboration with clients and designers; the firm takes on about a half dozen at once. We hear he tends to ask questions that aren't asked and head off problems before they creep up. Each job has its own project manager and superintendent, in addition to McCoy's supervision. While McCoy's projects represent a slice of the highest of the high end, he's known to be very considerate of budget discussions.
Representative Client Comments:
"Top-shelf crackerjack. As good as anyone out there." "Their entire team takes on a wonderful ‘can do' attitude." "McCoy's paper documentation is outstanding. And there's no finger pointing." "Delightful guy." "Extremely high end." "As good as other big kahuna contractors but for ten percent less. His company's not a factory." "Big job. Easygoing foreman."
