Principal Craig Nealy, a graduate of Cornell who has taught architecture at Yale, founded the predecessor firm in 1998. Nealy currently heads an office of ten. About a third of the firm's commissions are residential, and cover a wide range of services--from bathroom renovations to multi-million-dollar apartment rehabilitation projects to the design of ashtrays. On the retail side, Nealy has completed eight projects for Vera Wang (flagship, showrooms at Bloomingdale's and Bergdorf's), the S.T. Dupont Paris showroom, and sixteen stores for Louis Vuitton. Other commercial ventures include Sotheby's new "Bid" restaurant, a lobby for the World Bank in Washington, and a substantial prototype hotel in India. Nealy's star is clearly rising with multiple jobs from prestigious clients.
The firm charges a standard percentage of construction costs and standard markups over net for interiors, and handles each service with a separate contract. The company's Romantic Modern retail boutique has moved to its office where engaged clients can find luxurious and comfortable furniture and rare and compelling accessories.
