FR Review:
The father-and-son team of Carlo and Chris Ciardi, is known for one simple concept: "They will not cut corners." And with that, clients have come to expect great things from this firm, which has been in business for more than 35 years. This duo is known to repair furniture "in any style, from any period," although clients most often bring delicate chairs in for fixing. The Ciardis prefer using French polish or other methods of restoring custom finishes, but they will strip and refinish when necessary. All work is done by hand and no chemicals, power sanders or power tools are used in the process.
All work is done at the company's workshop, and pickup and delivery is provided at no extra charge. Projects can be as small as a "rickety old rocking chair" to a collection of "fine dining and living room chairs." The firm has worked with a number of celebrity clients, museums, antiques dealers and decorators. The Ciardis provide free estimates at the home, and insiders say they "always stand by their estimates, even if they lose money on the deal." You're going to pay more for this company's services, but sources across the board say it's still low for the product's quality.
