From quaint guest homes in and around New York City to lavish oceanfront homes in Florida, Richard Henry Behr is known to have a discriminating clientele that "appreciates fine design." We hear Behr is particularly adept at maximizing views, assessing sites and placing the home to blend appropriately into the surrounding community and natural environment. The firm is reputed to work "effortlessly" in a traditionally inspired environment, but is adaptable to many styles of design depending on the context of the area and the client's tastes. The firm works extensively throughout Westchester County, with a fair share of work in southern Connecticut and Vermont.
Behr, who holds an MBA from NYU and a Bachelor of Architecture from Minnesota, established the firm more than 25 years ago. The firm has two studios--one in Scarsdale and the other in Burlington, VT. Handling dozens of projects each year, Behr and his staff design everything from highly customized single family homes to large commercial institutional endeavors. He's even designed the Muppets' New York City studios. Behr's select residential projects are often substantial in size--and in budget.
