FR Review:
Diane Slovak's clients appreciate her "approachable personality" and the "intelligent thought process" she brings to a project. Her firm, The Construction Queen, will take on a small bathroom remodel with the same enthusiasm as a high profile penthouse, and the workmanship "speaks for itself." Catering primarily to a Connecticut and Westchester clientele, The Construction Queen also works from Manhattan to Rockland County.
A former research scientist in bio-medical engineering, Slovak took off her white coat to become a member of ASID. While working as an in-house designer for a large construction company she was drawn to the contracting side of the business. Since opening her own firm in 1985, she has applied her detail-oriented approach to the homebuilding industry. Sources say Slovak's technical and aesthetic suggestions "never lead you down the wrong road." The firm manufactures uniquely detailed cabinetry out of its Redding, CT shop and employs its own stable of painters and masons. New York prices start at $250 per square feet, and go up to $600. Projects range from $10,000 to $1 million with $150,000 to $300,000 the norm.
Representative Client Comments:

No details are overlooked." "Our cottage looks magnificent--and was a major selling point when our house went on the market." "Diane was highly professional. Her work was done on time and she demanded quality workmanship."
