FR Review:
When it comes to old-world antique finishes and "one-stop furniture restoration and repair," sources say Artifact Design Group sets the standard. The firm offers a vast array of services that include French polishing to custom creation and replacing of broken furniture parts. We're told the firm is careful to uphold the integrity of the original piece and adheres to the notion of "acceptable restoration as opposed to over restoration." Owner Gregory Clark has been restoring furniture since he was a youngster, helping out with his family's antiques restoration business. He started his own firm in 2000 and currently has a staff of seven craftsmen.

Projects generally start with just a few pieces, then "end up being all the furniture in the house," and range from $1,000 to $50,000. Nearly all of the firm's work is done in its workshop, but on very delicate pieces, Clark will make housecalls. Artifact Design Group deals mostly with very high-end American antiques. The company will provide in-home estimates, and will pick up and deliver the furniture, the cost of which is built into the estimate. Working from Boston to Philadelphia and everywhere in between, this firm, known to be a bit pricey, will accept commissions for custom furniture from all over the country, including Hawaii.

Representative Client Comments:
"They produce beautiful work and are just a joy to work with." "I can't exaggerate my delight with them." "Extraordinarily creative."
