Todd Romano has a loyal set of clients who relate to his easy design elegance and helpful nature. Much of Romano's settings are founded on classical American motifs highlighted with unexpected colors, inherited furnishings and rich details. He is known to interweave fine antiques with quality reproductions, creating a finished product at a reasonable price. Romano often works with architect Patrick Carmody, and clients say the two make a terrific team.
The firm works with Standard design fees, Standard percentages over net and Reasonable hourly oversight fees. Romano is also available for hourly consultations. Most clients are the young carriage trade of Park Avenue or those in the suburbs referred by friends to their first real decorator. Other clients include more established homeowners who appreciate Romano's breadth of product choices. References report that Romano is willing and able to take the quality to the highest level, but that he never pushes and has many interesting sources.
