FR Review:
With outstanding client service as his fundamental axiom, Kenneth Alpert takes a sincere, focused and personalized approach to each project. While best known for his traditional-to-the-max style, bedecked with chintzes, toile and elegant trims, Alpert is also fluent in Art Deco, minimalist and formal French. Regardless of the style, the firm delivers comfortable, full-sized, family-oriented designs and brings attention to detail to a new level. About a quarter of the projects are in the Westchester area, particularly Scarsdale, Purchase, Mamaroneck and Rye, with one neighbor recommending him to the next.
Alpert holds a BS from Wharton and an MBA from NYU. While attending classes at the NYSID, he founded the firm almost 30 years ago. Currently with fourteen members on the team, about forty projects are undertaken annually, ten of which are of substantial size and scope. While there are four senior designers, all significant design decisions are made with Alpert. Clients say they do not doubt Alpert more than once "because his ideas are always better."
References appreciate Alpert's formal presentations, and also comment on his excellent budget layouts and refined professionalism. Clients express equal confidence in the back office. The firm charges a Standard design fee and Classic retail on product, with a typical living room baselining at about $150,000. Clients say Alpert "is not a budget designer" but is practical.
