FR Review:
Founded in 1993, the CORNERSTONE of this firm is exceptional custom homes. We understand that they manage projects with “a high degree of professionalism and style,” putting them “right up there” among the elite builders in Westchester, Fairfield and New York City. The firm splits its skills between ultra-high-end residential renovations and new construction; the latter is typically of a larger scale, going from $2 million to $20 million and comprising multi-phase, multi-year projects. Grand landscaping is often part of the effort, and we hear that the firm has created everything from ski slopes to lakes on its clients’ estates.

George Pusser, founder and president of CORNERSTONE Contracting man- ages 50+ project managers, carpenters, laborers and cabinetmakers, all of whom contribute to the “superb finish quality.” Recognizing the importance of the collaborative process during construction, CORNERSTONE "embraces the team concept" working in concert with clients, architects, interior designers, engineers and consultants alike. The company has completed LEED projects, and has worked extensively with geothermal heating and cooling systems. CORNERSTONE has also rebuilt and converted numerous timber-frame buildings and barns. We understand that they are often called upon by clients and architects during the pre-construction phase to help develop preliminary budgets and schedules, secure permits, source materials and identify subcontractors and suppliers, "smoothing out the wrinkles" for a more stress-free renovation experience. Most contracts are negotiated with the firm working on a weekly fee or a percentage of the cost of construction.

Representative Client Comments:
“Highly organized and methodical.” “They staff projects well and provide excellent in-house craftsmen.” “We adored their work ethic from start to finish.” “We plan to use them again and again.” “Each project manager was a pleasure to deal with. My client was thrilled with the results.” “Immediately responsive. Very service-oriented. Whatever we need.” “Extremely businesslike and professional throughout–right down to the punch list.”
