Noted for her sculptural, harmonious, monochromatic designs and her professionalism, Victoria Hagan stands out among the new set of contemporary designers. Clients praise the quality of her workmanship, her handsome and spare forms and her incorporation of every modern comfort. Warm velvets and cashmeres enhance clean, cerebral lines. Hagan's work is further distinguished by a generous use of fine antiques, strong architectural details, natural materials and eclectic embellishments. Designs are thoughtfully integrated into the settings. While references say that she is firm in her design opinions, they also acknowledge that she is determined to make clients happy. Hagan reportedly presents several options and works with the clients to lead them through the process.
A graduate and moard member of Parsons, Hagan founded her firm in 1991. She accepts only a few projects per year and devotes significant attention to each one. Clients include Jack Welsh in Fairfield, Revlon head Ronald Perelman, movie director Barry Sonnenfeld and the Bronfmans. While lesser knowns are taken on, project scopes remain large and serious, and none are undertaken without a specific commitment. Recent projects include a Greenwich manor house, a Westchester country home, a bucolic South Carolina retreat, and several Manhattan apartments. An exclusive architectural consultant often works on projects with Hagan.
