FR Review:
Whether outfitting slick corporate HQs or remodeling cozy country kitchens, this straight-arrow general contractor strikes a bull's-eye. Established in 1992, MZM works in New York City, Westchester and Fairfield on a diverse slate of jobs budgeted between $200,000 and $2 million. We're told the firm does well to commit fully to every client, taking on only about four projects at a time. Notably, MZM's broad background affirms its ability to execute technically challenging projects that might require special forms, shoring and structural elements with no room for error.
Principal Mike Hirsch's 25-plus years in the construction industry has taken him from project engineer on the French and Japanese Pavilions at EPCOT Center, in Orlando, Florida to rehabbing a seven-story TriBeCa residence. His partner, Robert Winnicki, brings 25 years' experience of his own in running the firm's field operations. From superintendents and carpenters, MZM's staff is reported to be "easier to get in touch with and more reliable" than the competition. The firm's commercial connections make it an exceedingly good value as well.
Representative Client Comments:
"Mike is a calming influence, very rational." "They've come in to fix the little tiny things after the job." "He has a great supervisor on site, but I can always call Mike." "Attention to detail, they hand filed all the cornices to make them fit perfectly."
