FR Review:
Joanne Riley quickly sets her clients at ease, as they know that she will make the right choices for their lifestyle and interest. Whether it be restrained opulence, subtle classicism or sleek sophistication, Riley finds the tone and depth that is appropriate. Lending a hand in the architectural details and the lighting plans and going right through to the accessories and fresh flowers, Riley works with the client to obtain a polished finished product.
Professionalism and thoroughness come naturally to Riley, who competed internationally in equestrian events after college. She soon gravitated to the family business, Simmons Furniture Company, where she learned much about marketing and management. After studying interior design at Paier College of Art, Riley was the very first employee of John LaFalce's, becoming a Senior Designer. Riley opened her own firm in 1990, where there are now five on staff, including a full time draftsman. About six projects are undertaken at a time, usually on a soup-to-nuts basis, ranging from large central Connecticut homes to New York City studios.
The firm will start with one room and has great flexibility. Budgets tend to evolve, but clients report that Riley quickly understands the scope of their economics. On the edge of a trend, The Interior Edge charges by the hour regardless of the cost of the products and passes along the net pricing to the client. Riley's easy manner and cooperative attitude result in numerous recommendations. ASID.
