FR Review:
Awash in charm and elegance, Bunny William's rooms enchant clients with their cohesive medley that unpretentiously speak to a genteel past and a current comfort. Clients report that she can expertly execute a range of styles but gravitates toward a refined, welcoming English sensibility awakened with fresh, modern finishes and unusual pieces of character. An 18th-century English chest might be crowned with a 50s mirror or a French Moderne desk flanked by Regency chairs. Combining this bespoke approach with her extraordinary professionalism, talent and energy, Williams has obtained near cult status in the decorating community.
Raised in Albemarle County, Virginia (home to Nancy Lancaster), Williams carries on the craft of gracious Southern living. Trained at the venerable Parish- Hadley, she opened her own firm in 1988. Her organizational skills and strong back office allow for excellent efficiency and quick project development. The firm has four integrated design teams, each headed by a senior design associate. Williams is said to travel extensively but is the design inspiration behind each creation. With a weekend home in northwest Connecticut, Williams travels through the regional area regularly, easily stopping by Fairfield County, which constitutes about fifteen percent of her client base.
Most projects are quite substantial, ranging from a classic Cape Cod-style compound on the Connecticut side of the Sound to Manhattan penthouses to large homes in California, Palm Beach, Atlanta, Maine, Texas and the south of France. Clients confirm William's "ladylike nature" and her ability to "do it all," saying that she is a woman of her word. Prices are reportedly extraordinarily high but can be brought under control. Williams also has a great passion for gardening. Joining forces with antiques dealer John Rosselli, they own Treillage, a garden furniture shop in Manhattan, and Williams is the author of the book On Garden Style. HB Top Designers, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004. ID Hall of Fame. KB 1990, 1998.
