FR Review:
When Jones founded the firm in 1980, she was known to strap on a toolbelt herself because "that's what it took to get the job done." As the firm expanded, we're told she assembled a team of highly talented partners who strive for the same functional, well proportioned and highly detailed design. Historic authenticity and materials that blend into the environment take precedent over "making an architectural statement." This "hands-on, service-oriented" firm, generally handles commissions dealing with Tudor, Georgian and Shingle style homes.
Cormac Byrne and Jim Margeotes play major roles in directing the architectural direction of the firm and its projects. While the two will never admit to having a particular style, insiders tell us the firm does mostly traditionally based design with a heightened sensitivity to scale and comfort.
This full-service firm works across Westchester and Fairfield counties and tends to stick to that geographic area. The firm takes on about fifteen new projects each year, the majority of which are large-scale residential renovations, with budgets starting at $1 million and averaging $3 million to $5 million. We're told no detail goes ignored and no stone unturned--the firm assembles all consultants necessary to get the project finished and diligently researches the permitting process and local codes.
