FR Review:
This Doc makes house calls, and clients are "overjoyed" at such "a unique service," which rewires lamps right on the premises. Be it a chandelier, mini-halogen, temperamental three-way, or European fixture converted to US voltage, the Lamp Doc is on call. Making his rounds in Westchester and New York City, he is even available to assess antique finds before purchase. He will take down and put back up most fixtures and if necessary, take them to the shop.
"Doc" Roy Schneit, who works alongside "Nurse" (and wife) Lois, has over 30 years experience in the lighting business and previously owned a lamp shop in the City. Clients call the pair "prompt, professional, knowledgeable and obliging." Prices are always quoted over the phone and range from $55 to several hundred dollars per repair.
Representative Client Comments:
"Neat and careful, great with antiques." "His professional competence is matched by his unfailing courtesy and punctuality." "The cost was exactly as he quoted beforehand on the phone." "It would have been such a nuisance to schlep these lamps to a repair shop. And a ‘regular' electrician would have charged substantially more." "Roy brought all the necessary equipment and repaired all my lamps, including some antiques I inherited, and I'm in my eighties."
