Milly de Cabrol is praised by her mostly young and chic clientele as being masterful in combining styles and ideas to fulfill their imaginative visions. While ably using a diverse palette of textiles and colors, her editing skills are said to be as strong as her versatility, which often centers on a theme. In the region, de Cabrol favors a Provence-meets-Tuscany feel that is like "taking a vacation and checking into a five-star hotel." Clients appreciate the fact that Milly is the sole contact and inspiration for projects and works highly collaboratively with the client.
Born into an aristocratic and artistic Italian family, de Cabrol lived in London for ten years and traveled extensively in the Far East. In 1984 the designer moved to the States, and started her career in interior design. We're told she most enjoys unusual design projects for which she "pours her heart and soul into them." Recent projects have included a chateau-like house in Westport, an Indian-Swedish apartment on Fifth Avenue, a grand English duplex on the West Side of Manhattan and a NY pied-a-terre filled with modern art. She is said to possess a particularly good touch with collections.
The firm charges a Standard design fee and Low product markups. She is lauded by supporters for her hardworking attitude and helpful nature. HB Top Designers, 2000, 2001, 2002.
