FR Review:
Louis DiBerardino is best known for creating "simple, yet elegant" additions and "sensitive" renovations to older, historically significant homes across southern Connecticut. The firm works in many styles ranging from Colonial and Greek Revival to New England farmhouses and even Cape and Ranch style homes from the 50s and 60s. Insiders say DiBerardino simply knows how to create spaces "that make the most impact" given the restrictive homes and properties he works with. The firm tends to work with families who are seeking to expand their primary residences to accommodate their evolving lifestyles.
Concentrating on residential architecture almost exclusively, DiBerardino is a sole practitioner who started the firm in 1993. While the vast majority of his projects are renovation and additions with budgets starting at about $250,000, this architect also takes on an occasional ground-up residence whose budget can eclipse $2 million. For these larger projects, DiBerardino employs the services of a stable of outside consultants. DiBerardino, who holds an architecture degree from the RPI, keeps his practice small to work very closely with each client and to "control the outcome as directly as possible." The firm charges a moderate fee based on a combination of hourly rates and a flat fee.
