FR Review:
Clients tell us the ivy-league educated tandem of Rob Sanders and Robert Faesy "is as an intelligent and well-spoken duo as you'll find." With their "sympathetic additions" and "trend-bucking" design philosophy, Faesy and Sanders are in high demand. The firm is lauded for its honest response to traditional, regional and historical context--"they don't do imitation old buildings," we're told. The firm's interpretations of the Federal- and Shingle- style homes are well received by clients and insiders alike. Faesy and Sanders is best known for its renovation, alteration and addition designs, with many taking place in the historical districts of Ridgefield, Wilton, Greenwich and Darien.
Faesy, a graduate of Yale, and Sanders, who holds a degree from Cornell, created this firm of eight in 1985. While the bulk of the firm's commissions carry budgets of $750,000 to $1.75 million, the firm will handle much smaller (and larger) projects. The firm tends to work with younger families, who view their homes "as precious assets" and we're told the architects "treat them as such." Sources say the firm revels in the renovation of turn-of-the-century wood and timber frame homes, creating homes that "lean toward the rustic side of traditional." The firm charges a standard percentage of overall construction costs.
