FR Review:
Carrying on the torch from her esteemed mother, Leslie Banker helms this boutique firm known for its refined, classical interiors. The look is precise and pedigreed, with custom upholstery, quality antiques and fine fabrics balanced “just so.” Colors are subtle and becoming - Banker is more likely to spend hours customizing the perfect shade of cream than to provoke with a zany bright. Well edited and clean, the firm’s work has a calm to it. For variation, Banker will liven things up with creative prints - just the right amount of zip for Park Avenue.

The firm was founded by the late Pamela Banker, whose storied career included stints at both McMillen and Parish-Hadley. Leslie, who grew up in the business, assumed the reigns in 2013. A traditionalist with a charming Instagram, she marries a respect for history to an appreciation for modern living. Clients say she is a “soothing presence,” flexible to their needs and that she “gets the lifestyle." A small office staff aids the process, allowing the firm to take three to four large projects at a time, though Banker will also take on smaller jobs if the chemistry is right. In addition to residential work, she has done a smattering of commercial projects, including a pro bono redesign of the New Bedford Whaling Museum.

Generally speaking, top-tier sources are used. The firm charges a standard design fee, and slightly below classic retail on most products. Clients tend to be dedicated to the firm over generations; many who came to rely on Pamela now turn to Leslie to make their homes comfortable, gracious and lovely.

Representative Client Comments:
"Bold, contemporary jungle prints at the beach and more rarified, traditional silks on Park Avenue. She has a very broad range and really meets the client's objectives." "She totally understands the look that is appropriate for Rye. Impeccable, but you can also put your feet up." "Leslie opened up the living room and made it flow." "She mixed English, French and Asian pieces altogether in one room." "When I had issues with my contractor Leslie stepped in and smoothed things over." "She's always available, either on the phone or to meet in person." "Very gracious if she doesn't connect with your idea, will always say 'let's save it for later' and find a way to get you what you need." "She does a good job repurposing things, like re-painting an old mirror to make it fresh." "She went with me to my mother's cellar to find things that could be incorporated into the design." "Very accommodating and you end up with beauty."
